This past weekend, our family took a road trip to North Carolina. We all headed down in the family minivan to Raleigh, spent the night, and then Patrick and I headed west to Bryson City in the mountains. The girls spent the weekend with Marme and Grandaddy. And got to go on the train and carousel at Pullen Park. And got to go to the playplace at the mall. And made star-shaped brownies, and took nature walks, and basically enjoyed themselves silly.
Patrick and I had a wonderful weekend being non-parents at Jennifer and Brian Hynes' wedding. It was beautiful. We stayed at the Folkestone Inn B&B and it was very nice, although located on a very windy road. This road, however, led to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, so before we took off back to reality on Sunday, we managed to squeeze in a little hike.
