Ahhh... we're back from Myrtle Beach. What a great week. More writing to come, but in the meantime, here are Mia and Laney loving it!
At the last minute, we decided to take a vacation to the beach in early June. We traded in our 2008 Orlando timeshare that we'd had hanging out there in the trading site and after several attempts, managed to find an equal trade in Myrtle Beach. Ecstatic that we were able to trade for something on the beach that fit between our already scheduled events: birthday parties, swim lessons, camp and the like, we had NO IDEA how lucky we were.
Marriott's OceanWatch Villas in Myrtle Beach were a true haven! The place completely caters to kids with a whole pool area dedicated to them. The pool is a zero entry pool, there are fountains and spilling buckets of water, a water slide, a poolside snack bar and drink bar (Thank you for all the Virgin Pina Coladas, honey!) and my mom was able to come down for 2 days to play as well! There were crafts and activities for the kids in the mornings for rainy or sunburned days, Dive-In movies at night, live music, and of course, the beach! It was just perfect in every single way.
Our villa had two bedrooms (one King suite and one with two Queens for our little princesses), a kitchen, living room, balcony with room for breakfast, and of course all the amenities - again, just plain WONDERFUL and everything was NEW. Our balcony was situated on a corner so while we had breakfast out there we enjoyed a view of the beach and a large house under construction, which we watched with the interest and intimate knowledge that only a homeowner also currently under construction would understand. ("Honey, is that hardibacker or drywall dust that's creating that cloud over there?" "Neither. See the walls? They are putting up the Hardiboard panels on the outside! Cool!")
Anyway, it was a vacation we were very blessed to get to have, and we do hope to return there in a few years for another go.
